Simple & Cozy Christmas Decor Round Up

Hey friends! Welcome to my 2019 Christmas round up! Here you'll see just about

everything we did to make our place feel like home for the holidays. Hope you have just as

much fun looking through it all as we did putting it together!

My husband and I got married at the end of June of this year, so this is our first Christmas together as a married couple. It has been so much fun decorating and building up our Christmas decor collection. I wanted something simple and cozy that we can build off of in the years to come. Devin just wanted it to feel like Christmas. And so we set out on our journey to make home feel like a cozy, winter wonderland Christmas.

One of our biggest challenges by far was the fact that we have a blue rug. I love it and the character that it adds to our living room, but the blue was definitely a challenge when trying to add in touches of red without going full red-white-and-blue. 'MURICA. I think we found something to make it work!

Picking out a Christmas tree is essential to any home transformation during the holidays. Growing up just a mile away from the most magical tree farm, I always swore by real trees... But when you live in an apartment in Southern California and aren't too interested in picking pine needles out of your puppy's mouth every day, I set my Midwestern pride aside and found a super affordable tree that we love at Walmart! This flocked, pre-lit baby set the stage for a winter wonderland in our living room, and you can't beat the price. We also grabbed a matching wreath for the front door, and a couple garlands.

We don't have a fireplace or a mantle, so as you can see in the photos above, we got creative! My sister-in-law got me a similar farmhouse ladder for Christmas last year, and we scored the sweetest chunky knit stockings at TJ Maxx/Home Goods. I couldn't find them online, but here are some similar ones -one for our little Brie too! When shopping around for decorations, I found the copper sleigh bells and knew I loved them but didn't know where to put them right away. They ended up being the perfect addition to our makeshift mantle.

Here's a quick links spot for all of these items!
