02. February Friday Five

Hey-o, friend-o's! I hope you've had a fantastic week! Devin and I are actually in San Diego right now. It's our first just-for-fun trip since we got married, and we're staying in the cutest Airbnb that I shared in my first Friday Five post last month. I'm hoping to share a little more about our San Diego trip on the blog soon, but make sure to follow me on Instagram so you can see updates in real-time! For now, here's a little more Friday Five fun. :)

If you read my most recent post about going digital with my calendaring, you know that I still have a deep appreciation for writing things out whenever helpful. In fact, I'm a little bit of a pen snob -not crazy, but a little bit. One of the high schoolers that I work with uses these pens and she let me borrow one. These might not be the sleekest looking pens on the outside, but I absolutely love the way that they write. I know a lot of college students who like using G2 pens, and I think that these are even better. Great for journaling, taking notes, and just about anything else you can imagine. Here's a pen pro-tip: If you get a finer tipped pen, it's easier for your writing to look neat and organized. Personally, I try to stick with a .38 or .5 tip. Muji has a lot of fun colors, but you can also just get the black pens here.

2) The Ultimate Kraft Mac N Cheese

If we have ever had a meal together, you are probably aware of the fact that (for the most part), I have the palette of a 6-year-old. Mac N Cheese is easily a staple for me whether we are eating out or spending the night at home. But friends, this changes the game of your typical box of Kraft. First, substitute some of your milk for cream cheese. I usually just fill up part of the 1/4 cup scoop with cream cheese, then top off the rest of the scoop with your choice of milk. The cream cheese makes the finished product a little bit thicker and richer -who can complain about that?? Then, guys... THEN. Add in a couple of packets of Buffalo Sauce, specifically from Chickfila because it's just the best, no contest.

I talked about this on my Instagram story earlier this week! I feel like every 20-something has AirPods right now. Okay, maybe not everyone, but definitely a lot! I got a pair for Christmas and honestly love them so much. Not only do they look super sleek and clean, but they actually make my life a lot easier. My phone meetings have been more efficient, I've called my mom more because it's easy to talk and do something else at the same time... the list goes on. But honestly, I would lose them so fast if I didn't have this cute case. I have it clipped to my little purse, so I always have them with me. A friend of mine has theirs attached to their keys! Either way, it's super simple and there are a lot of cute options.

I'm such a sucker for tortoise print. Glasses, phone cases, earrings... anything. When I saw a similar pair to these in a boutique, I fell in love -but not with the price. I immediately checked on Amazon to see if they had anything similar, and check it out! They did! Devin ended up getting them for me for Christmas, and they are my go-to earrings right now. Even if you aren't normally a hoop earring gal, I think you'll like these. They don't get in the way or go out to the sides too much. They bring an extra level of intentionality to almost any outfit, and they easily fit any cute and casual style, which is my favorite state of being. ;)

I just got this in the mail yesterday after hearing about it from Ashley Hodges, and immediately tried it on a couple of sweaters of mine and it actually works! It takes the little fuzzies off worn sweaters and fabric. I'm even going to try it on our couch when we get back home! It's easy to use, takes 2 AA batteries, and could travel easily if you ever needed to. This little tool is definitely going to give my wardrobe some extra life! It works best when the fuzz is concentrated into balls (some people call them pills), not overall fuzziness. I'll be sharing a little about it on my Instagram stories this week and showing how to use it, so make sure to be on the lookout for that.

Below, you'll find a little something fun! You can "shop this post" by clicking any of the links in the entire blog post, but I'm giving you a little round-up for easy reference. As always, if you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, feel free to reach out on my Instagram or through my email at itsshannonlong@gmail.com. I hope you have a lovely Valentine's Day filled with love from all of your favorite people! :)
