01. First Friday Five

Hey friends! Hope this week has been awesome! I honestly can't believe how fast it's gone by, especially because it has felt so full! Our lil pup got spayed and is now wearing the cone of shame, and we kicked off another semester with the amazing college students that I work with. Needless to say, I'm ready for the long weekend.

Today I'm sharing a little "Friday Five" which is just basically five random things from this week that I feel like sharing. There aren't really any rules, which is a little tough for a rule follower like me, but I think I can suffer through it. ;)

Without further ado..... My first Friday five!

This is a really new one for us! We've never used it before this week, but it was just so dang convenient. Some weeks we just don't have the time or energy to make it out to the grocery store and this was one of those weeks. Devin ordered all of our groceries through their website, paid a $5 delivery fee, and we had our groceries in less than a couple hours. I think the prices may be a little bit higher on their site, but I think you still end up saving money because you only get what you need -not those random things that you grab when you see them. What would have normally been a $75 grocery trip turned into $50. You can get $10 off AND free delivery for your first time by using our referral code (SD522C21ED) or by clicking here.

I absolutely love using Canva, and I have for the past few years. I use it for work, for church, for this blog, and I even made all of our paper items for our wedding with it! The interface is really user friendly, and there are a ton of templates and hacks to be able to make whatever you want. See the banner at the top of this post, and how my head is perfectly cut out? That's an automatic feature!! I literally had to click one button. I shared this with my friend who works in children's ministry and is a substitute teacher, and she is obsessed too. Give it a shot and let me know what you think! Above are just a few examples of things that I've made before.

Okay, so you may have seen this on my women's gift guide a while back. WELL. Devin took the hint and got this for me for Christmas and it is a GAME. CHANGER. Those 16,000+ 5-star reviews were no joke. I'm not one who spends a lot of time on their hair. In fact, I have my hair up in a bun most of the time just because I'm lazy. I have a friend that legit thinks I got a haircut every time my hair is down. Anyways. In just 15 minutes, this brush takes my hair from wet-dog to right out of the salon. It's easy, affordable, I'm here for it, and you should be too.

Devin and I just booked our first ever just-for-fun weekend trip. We have traveled SO much since getting married, but never just to spend time together. We scoured the internet for days trying to find the right place. We almost picked a hotel in Solvang, CA... but we got some AirBnB gift cards from our wedding, so it made this option super doable even on a newly-wed budget -and you can't complain when you get your own private jacuzzi! Super excited to spend the weekend away together and explore San Diego. Now accepting San Diego recommendations for restaurants and fun things to do!

Mkay. I talked about this one on Instagram earlier this week. If you like Chickfila and you don't have the app yet, it's amazing. Free food for days. Unlike the Starbucks app where you have to load money on to it, you don't have to do that with the Chickfila App. Instead, you just scan the QR code when you make a purchase and get the points in return. The points can quickly add up to be free food rewards and then you have more Chickfila. It's a win-win, really. Even if you don't go very often, you'll get free food from your local restaurant because they just want to see your smiling face (and get you in your restaurant to use your free reward because who the heck is going to JUST get fries anyways). They have a free 8-count nugget reward right now for anyone who gets on the app! Go! Go! Go! Go!

Well that was kinda fun! Maybe you found something you're interested in, too. I wouldn't share it if I didn't think it was great. On my Instagram story, I asked if anyone had anything they would want to share on a Friday Five, and someone (*cough* DAD *cough*) shared a few quotes. One of them including, "86% of statistics are made up." Riveting content here, folks. Absolutely riveting. For real though, it's been so fun having this space to be creative in my own little corner of the internet, and I so grateful for support and encouragement of my friends and family. Thanks for always replying to my questions, Dad. :)
